These are some developing ideas for the hull livery of the first City One, soon to be launched. We are exploring simple and bold graphics shapes, applying the City One visual identity we developed in late 2013 to the hull and sails. While achieving the aesthetic we seek is a first concern, we also have a mind to the boats unique architecture. And happily Theo Rye’s magnificient design is lending itself easily to the process.
Having mocked up the bold almost harlequin shapes of strong colour to the first hull, and more than happy with the effect, we now brief the spray painter, as to the graduated subtleties of design. These graduated airbrush effects will give dimension and depth to the final hull and project the strong imagestic style we seek – nature loves beauty.
